Rip off. They wanted 190 kroner (£16) to park up and look at the view, so we got the stove out and made a pot of Earl Grey and planned our attack. Back down the road turned round and through the toll booth at high speed, parked up with the rest of the bikes and blended in with the crowed. A security guard walked up and then didn`t have a clue. Not much to see except a lot of sea.

It was a bit of a epic ride.
Due to work commitments we could only give ourselves 10 riding days to get there and back.
We had decided that after 5 days we would turn round if we had not got to the top. After 5 days we still had 300miles to do and wanted to see a bit of Finland.
We decided to go for Nordkapp and do more miles per day to get back.

Planned on doing a couple of 600 mile days. After the first 600miles we were still quite fresh so decided to ride through the night. At 2am we stopped having done 1100miles. We slept next to the bikes under the stars, there would have been stars if it had not been for the sun shining all night long.
Riding through northern Sweden at 90mph hour after hour into the night was a magical experience. The stunted trees, reindeer (scary when they wander into the road) and the occasional Sami camp was amazing to see as the sun dips down to the horizon while traveling at high speed.

Total distance 3900miles.
It was a trip of a lifetime and one i would recommend.

Just back as well, still cant sit down properly, bl**dy seat. 5 days up, 5 days back, hell of a ride but as you say one of a lifetime. Amazed at how expensive everything was.

Glad you had a good time Rolo.
We stopped in the log cabins on the camp sites and found them to be reasonable especial if you barter, but everything else is bloody expensive.

You get what you pay for. In this case you get hughely amazing scenery and very friendly people for your kronor. I'd pay again for the experience.

Great stuff. Just back myself from a lazy three week trip. Did from Narvik to to the Nordkapp and back and then on to Sortland near the Lofotens in one day, wrecked after !
Couldn't resist it tho, had good weather that day, loved the tundra bit after Alta and the coast road to the Nordkapp, so turned around immediately and did it again :-) Riding in the midnight sun avoiding reindeer and moose, watching the campfires and smelling the pine smoke which was lying like a mist at times was simply the best ride I've ever had, though it was closely followed by stuff like the Trollstigen, the hairpins at Lysboten including the one in the wet tunnel, eeek, and the snow road to Aurland (riding along with ski-ers going beside!) were also fantastic.
I'll be paying it off for the next six months but it was well worth it, did over 5,260 miles in total and me tyres are shagged already, there's simply amazing grip on Norwegian roads.
It's true , its an amazin biking country. Even got lost on top of a mountain between Sunndalsora and Andalsnes. Did about 50 miles on gravel tracks with sheer drops, got it on video, stunning, got a geeza building a dam to show me how to get down. Still buzzing, credit card still humming.
