Is that the famous Salisbury area of the Land Rover mfg. plants. :) It's where Stonehenge and Old Sarum is Mod. It's a bit like 'Little house on the Prairie' mixed up with iron age hill forts, burial mounds, army tanks and firing ranges.

Oops... I was more referring to the HD rear ends that came on the 109" and 110"
Salisbury rear ends on Land Rovers are a very strong unit.

YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAA! :P
Ah! Salisbury rear ends! My many Landy-building mates assure me that these were named for their designer, Mr. Salisbury. Or perhaps Dr. Salisbury...
Salisbury (the town) is in a very rural area, not a manufacturing / engineering area. That rural area includes the immense Salisbury plain, mainly owned by the Ministry of Defence, and therefore used for the army to practice shooting stuff. It's open to the public to a limited extent.
For the benefit of Land Rover fans worldwide, note that the manufacture of these venerable sheds and their constituent parts is mainly in the industrial West Midlands of England, like a lot of the British motor industry used to be.
Salisbury plain, on the other hand, is down south.

Great info. on that. I had thought it named after the town or some such thing... thanks for clearing that up. And here... I'm supposed to be some ex-Rover mech. and all  (must be the reason I'm an EX then :P )
