Trail riding is pretty new to me. Infact i've only been riding a bike for the last four years and that has been on and off except recently when i got a Pegaso. While commuting to work i would often meet a guy Mark who is a courier. After a while he told me about a trip he and his mates were going. He talked me into going and i didn't regret it!

We meet up on a terrible misty Saturday morning and then rode to one of the guy's houses to pick up his dad. There was me on my loud Pegaso, Eugen1 on his @, Mark on his Tenere and the father and son on Dominators. To be honest i was rather nervous about the day. I had only ever met Mark and that was for all of a minute the odd day sitting in traffic. And i had never been trail riding before. I was stupid being nervous though. We all took it really easy.

First it was to Newcastle for breakfast. Then we headed towards the mournes. As we climbed up the mountian roads we broke through the mist to clear blue skys and wonderful sunshine.

After a few miles we got to the trail and then the fun began. Some of the trail was ok but it then it got really rough and the well named Dominators just kept going over the really rough stuff.

If anyone wants to know were exactly these trails are or want to go on them some time then ask either myself or Eugen1 and we'll sort you out.

Looks like excellent riding! Might have to stop by for a day's riding the next time I'm over. 8)

Yeah, I'm interested. Live in south but it's a couple of hours' ride max. Please let me know when you're planning to go next time and I'll try to join you.

You seem to use road tyres. I'm running Anakees so will avert all the wet stuff.

No problem i'll post it up on this site when we are heading out next. The Tyres are Metzeler Tourace thingys. They do the job.
