good parts dept, mechanics good blokes :D but thats about it. :? you get two years free servicing with every bike, however i think their servicing consists of oil, filter and plugs!!!! recently asked them to replace pads at the service (i'd already paid for the pads) . they just took out the old ones and chucked in the new. no cleaning of pistons or greasing! just spent 2 hours declogging pistons and calipers!!!! ho hum!

ah, the goldwing man......... I'd buy you a beer if I knew who you were!!!!! I wont buy from gedges ever again. Trevor tried to have me over on the sale of a transalp. his staff - Andy, james, Mick, and gavin are stars. - Gavin left after 21 yrs to work at Destination Triumph and Trevor never even bothered to speak to him before he left. I bought my triumph tiger from destination triumph and was waiting for trevor to try and ban me from his shop, i would have been on the phone to trading standards, honda, yamaha, suzuki and triumph as i've bought all of their bikes in the last 4 yrs. I'd also go to the local papers.its a shame as i would have gone back had it not been for trying to make a quick £400.

Sean you're not too far way. Can't recommend J2Honda in Southampton enough. And Lee, their top mechanic is officially Honda's mechanic of the year sof 2008:thumbright::thumbright::thumbright:

They're friendly and won't rip you off and extremely knowledgeable and very helpful.

We've used them quite a few times and Mel Jordan gets his Africa Twin looked after there too.

I have been a customer of J.S.Gedge for nearly 20 years. Not sure what you guys are talking about as I have always been served with proffessionalism and the best of manners. Surely it is good business sense and certainly in my interest to give preferential treatment to people who have bought their bikes from the shop ;)

If I was old and cynical I would find it highly suspicious that a new member's first post was to defend a dealer especially reading the second sentence. However I'm not cynical  so welcome to the site.

Understand the cynasism and on reading the previous comments, too true I have joined purely to defend my local dealer. Have always felt it easier to complain than compliment so credit where credit due. One word of praise for every complaint I make gives me a sense of karma :)

hi peter well i got my first bike in 1988 from j.s gedge :p.In 2003 i went for the big bike test with j.s gedge pasted first time and got the stx 1300 pan:thumbright:
.I have had 3 stx 1300 pans from j.s gedge in the last 5 years .IN the past when this dealer did not have any pan in stock he used my pan for a demo and got a sale on a new stx 1300.IN 2007 i went up to the ore dealer to get a price on a px for my stx 1300 pan for a 2007 goldwing with sat nav they gave me a price the same night i was on the net and found a honda dealer in surrey they had a red new gl1800a7 in stock better price by £2.500 so i went to this dealer .THE NEXT DAY I HAD A RUDE PHONE CALL FROM TREVER GEDGE :clown::clown:WITH NO PROFFESSIONALISM AT ALL SAYING I WAS NOW BARD ALL BECAUSE I WENT TO A DEALER THAT GAVE A FAR BETTER DEAL:-) THAN HIM.AS J.S GEDGE IS A HONDA DEALER HE SHOULD BE MORE CAREFULL WHEN HE RANTS :rolleyes:DOWN THE PHONE .IN MY JOB I MEET A LOT OF PEOPLE WORD GETS A ROUND VERY FAST.
