I should point out That i have attended the Toy Run for more than ten years,So this is not a desicion i have made on the spur of the moment. It will be sad for me to miss the run , But i do not intend to end up in the hospital due to a moron with a Marshall,s Bib on who could not ride to save himself.
Seen a few africa twins at the toy run this year and forum members there????????
fw600vj was there. He said it was crap though as they didn't go over 30mph! And he nearly got taken out!
Always the same at these runs, though i did manage more then 30mph!#
Friend of mine broke his leg after being taken out last year and is facing a knee replacment in the new year as a result.
I only go because my daughter likes to go with me (shes 11) most other runs I do are too long, and its an excuse to meet other bikers.
Cheers
i was going to go with him but didn't and am glad now as is sounded pretty crap.
I was in UK (getting woken by Buncefield Oil bang Sunday am) otherwise I might have gone, but from the posts here, don't seem like I missed much. Was for a good cause though.....

Hi Simon i was on the Toy Run , But it was from Ballygowan just outside Belfast not the Cork toy run. Over £950 and a load of toys were handed over to the Childrens Ward. I would say around 250 bikes were on the run. With all the fatal crashes on Poker/Charity/runs this year i expect the orginisers made the decision to limit the speed to 30 m.p.h. , The riding skill of some of the marshalls and one in particular left a lot to be desired .The only good thing was the slow speed meant i was able to miss that looney by millimetres .Next year i will not go on the run i will just go up and make a donation.fw600vj :(
