View Full Version : ex demo
ah, i know lintons, top blokes, even took a speedo cable off a brand new bike so i could get home safely (i was caught speeding near banbridge and given a £680 fine! RUC are the most useless ****ers in the world!) some of the tat in their shed out the back is hellishly over priced though!
Hi Simon
Your quite right Hursts would not be the place to purchase a Honda and get a good deal.. Also they no longer have the franchise and seem to be selling varadero 125's.
Buy my Hondas from Ronnie Linton in Ballymena. Definately the place to go if your buying new or nearly new. He has some demos for sale but no Transalps as a chap I know bought the one he had recently. My friend arranged a wee deal last night for another bloke who bought a cbf600s with anti lock brakes for £4300 new rrp£5200.
If your ever up that way on a Friday evening they open late until 9pm and have a couple of sheds full of bikes ranging over many years. It is quite a sight but sadly will disappear all too soon as they are gradually merging with motorcycle world.
Regards
jak

been offered an ex demo(10mths old)150m on clock 04 model for £4400 is this a good price it has no extras and remaining warranty.as its from a dealers anything else to ask for or would that be too cheeky
cheers darren
Sorry if I am teaching granma to sucjk eggs, but this what I do....
first just ask for loads and loads of stuff to be added to it. Then tell 'em u really want to buy the bike and its the best u have seen but not happy with the overall deal, be persistent and don't be embarassed or bashful about asking, say ou love the shop, think its the best place to buy from, think the salesman is really trying for u etc etc (make him feel good], BUT say there's lots of choice and although u don't really want to, there are other deals that look promising - do some research and get a real example. Once the salesman starts considering optional extras ask about the money off instead (he won't want to do that] so get him back onto what extras he will give ou. Compromise - take Givi instead of honda luggage, etc. He will likley offer u a deal if ou sign up there and then, up to ou as the offer will still be there tomorrow. Be prepared to walk away - it will still be there in a week's time as will the deal u walked from.
extras to consider:
extra warranty
free servicing
Scotoiler
Heated Grips
Centre Stand
Honda Top Box
Honda Panniers
crash bars
new tires
leathers, boots, gloves helmet etc
you WON'T get all this!!!!
i paid £4400 for mine, ex demo 4 months old , only 36 miles on the clock with honda panniers, heated grips and 2 years FREE servicing! (unlimited mileage). I also got a deal on a top box, centre stand, taller screen, datatag, scotoiler and bar brace! you should be able to get at least another 400 off! try and see if they will include a set of panniers as honda were doing a promotion on 04 transalps.
Hi
Bought an 04 with the extra Honda bits eg. heated grips, colour matched top box, centre stand and touring screen. All of these bar the centre stand were Honda included accessories. Check if the bike was registered September 04 onwards. If so the dealer was given an allowance to fir this accessory pack. i bought mine for £4500 with 27 miles on it and he through in the centre stand.
Be polite and persistent. In reality the bike is an 04 that is two model years back. i have just bought a new 06 for £4850 and had all my bits which match the colour changed over. Lost very little on the deal really. I do beleive as previous advice states shop about and get comparisons. Don't be unwilling to walk away there will always be another one.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
regards
Jak :)
