Decided what the heck !! Me and my better looking half are taking time out to go visit all of our friends who have opted for the 'get foreign girlfriend/boyfriend and move abroad' option.

Am planning on setting off in June/July and looking for nice routes. Not necessarily the quickest but not via 'last seen on a map in 1885'
We are looking at spending a few days with each friend in each country, the rest will be travelling between and camping.

Anyway, to the point!! Any reccomendations from those with more travelling experience than me, much appreciated, before I set of on a 'you should have gone that way tour!'

Looking at 6 weeks, so 1 country a week is the plan with day or two in each. Is this realistic?? or overly ambitious? (We are used to 8-10 hr days in the saddle). Girlfriend is Spanish, talks English, German and French and can get by in a few others so got that bit covered!! 9st pocket translator!!

If you tell us where in Norway and Finland you wish to stop, I might be able to give you some hints.

sorry folks!
minor details!!

Nowhere in particular in Norway, just want to pass through (up and then down through Sweden/Finland) in a nice manner. How is the distance between fuel stops situation?

Heading to Tampere, Finland.

Then to Olsztyn, Poland

In a roundabout manner!

Been advised to catch ferry rather than try and cross Russian borders already. A lot of waiting, effort and paper work apparently for the time I am going to be there.

Told ferry to estonia is nice route and travel down to Poland that way. any views on that?

Trolling through horizons unlimited forums at mo!! Thanks to whoever posted link in another thread, cant remember where i came across it now!! :? cheers anyway

Chad, I don't!! I just nod blankly, look told, and scuttle away into a quiet corner!! usually to clean my bike!

In Norway? No problem on main roads, you just have to check the map if you go further north than Tromsø. Where there is people, you will find gas. Itīs not Mongolia you know.......

Thanks!

I just know it is a big place!!
Dont forget I live in little old England where you struggle to get more than 75(ish) miles from taking a swim!! :D

Are the midges as bad as people make out?? surely can't be worse than the isle of Skye!?

Just had a weekend in Poland and was also suprised how many petrol stations there were. Some seemingly in the middle of nowhere, literally!
