I've a big favour to ask
would someone order me a Airman Compact compressor from
B&Q | nextday.diy.com - 12,000+ DIY products next working day delivery
They wont except my billing address as its out of UK
I'll pick it up from the meet and can either transfer funds in advance or pay cash
it will be just over £15 with delivery
Have a look a post #1 in this thread. I will also start a new thread for people to post their individual travel plans so we know who we expect to meet where. I don't want to leave anyone behind.
Cabby the only way to leave the island early will be to not bring your bike onto piel island and take the ferry from/to Roa island. Roa island is on the opposite side from where we will cross the sands and is connected to the mainland.

As the sun was shining yesterday - for a while anyway - I got out on the bike through the lake district and ended up on Walney Island checking out the embarkation point for Piel Island - called Snab Point. Took some pics with my phone camera. The tide was in and looking at the vast expanse of water across Morecambe Bay left me feeling quite nervous about the crossing. This is a serious undertaking.
On the upside there were a couple of cars at Snab Point that judging by their state are used to cross the sands regularly - an Astra and a n Escort Van. So nothing special really needed and the builders must be taking their vans across too.
In the first pic the first bit of land across the water is Sheep Island and is about 500 yards away. Piel Island is behind this - you can see the castle and is about another mile. In the other photo's you can just see Roa Island - RNLI boathouse sticks out - which is where the little passenger ferry goes from if anyone is not taking their bike and needs to leave earlier.
