Ok, I'm in! I've discussed with Fiona and she's even offered me her Beemer for the event!
So, either the Mighty Varadero or the BMW GS650, decisions decisions! The GS is smaller, lighter, but not the comfort or power of the Vara,,, hmmm!
Speaking of trips and the mighty Varadero, I spent last night washing it and tonight polishing ready for the big Germany trip next Thursday,,, OMG! it's only a week away! Take a look at the following pic, now that's a damned fine looking Varadero,,, good grief, it's sexy!

Re: It's on.....off road in Galloway forest park 14/15th August

Forgot to mentionI fitted the touring Scottoiler last night as well, didn't want to drill holes in my back mudguard of a brand new bike, but now it's a yr old I've decided to butcher it! I don't know how it'll come back from Germany mate, I'm touring the Rhine, not dredging it! LOL!

I'm looking forward to the Galloway thing as well, I tried to organise something similar when my brother was maintenence at Ardverikie house at Loch Laggan, I spent many weekends rallying around the tracks on my RD04 on Ardverikie estate, fishing all the lochs up in the mountains! I've some great pics. Bring it on, dunno if I'll take the Beemer or not, it needs petrol when I ride it, for some strange reason???? We'll see!
Hopefully we can organise to meet up for the run down, I'll see what Steve T says, possibly meet up with yourself and LWR.

I'm in, for more Austin-based-Moto-Larks (©) - you must be going for an XRV Public Spirit award! Will be riding down from Edinburgh if there's a north-posse forming

Perhaps time for a 'home-brew' midge repellent thread - Tonic water in a wee pump spray bottle works for my other half, you just get a bit damp spraying it on every few minutes... Maybe I can start smoking again instead
