Replacing Seat foam?

Is there a cheaper alternative to getting the seat foam and cover replaced if the foam is old and compacted?

Since I find covering anything more than 50 miles on my 600 Transalp gives you a numb bum so need to do something about it if I ever want to go longer distances.

Re: Replacing Seat foam?

you can do it yourself if you have a decent staplegun.
get a new seatcover if you cant reuse the original, and do whatever you want with the foam underneath its only bogstandard foam. even put a gel insert into it easy enough.

Re: Replacing Seat foam?

wow great site Jarl, some good pics and advice.

I drilled a series of wholes in the base of my @ and removed cores of foam (remembering it is easy to take more away later, than to try and stick it back!)

It did help a little, and was a free option.
I'm prob going to take the drill to the TA when I get a chance,.

I'm still toying with asking Father Christmas for an airhawk, but looking to only pay sensible money for one (and not everyone gets on with them, by all accounts) so we will see.
