    Im wanting to use it for some off-roading as well, obveusly not too heavy stuff, going down to my local BMW dealer today after work as my family know's them fairly well

    I doubt they will have any in my budget but there is no harm in looking is there

    Ive P,M'd you as i have a friend who is about to sell his f650 with full luggage system as he's just(this morning) brought a 1200 - wants to shift the 650 pretty quickly...

    My first big bike was an F650GS. I loved it. Used on and off road, and evey did the Stella Alpina on it last year. Very comfortable and economical (you can get 90mpg out of them).

    They are also fun to ride. However, they are more agritultural than any other bike around and you need to give it a bit of wellie to get it going, but I didn't have much trouble keeping up with Stormforce8 on his Africa Twin and I only had to fill up half as often.............and I never got a numb rear end.........even after 600 miles
