    Bent rear brake lever

I bent my rear brake lever when out doing some trails. I got caught in some bad ruts.
The design of the brake and the gear lever doesn't seem so great as the ends don't pivot to stop them getting caught.

    Any solutions?

I see Touratech do one for £54!!!!!!

I don't know Chunk... what can he do with a bent lever? Does he work for Touratech?
I've hammered it back in to roughly the right shape but it's still not right. Think I might need to go and buy a second hand one.

Well I've kicked it back in to shape a bit more, literally. But riding today it still feels a bit strange.

When you get it sorted, I've seen wire devices that connect the lever end to the bashplate or frame to stop it happening again in 'normal' use. Some people make their own, but I'm sure you can buy them.
3 Africa Twins/280,000 miles. If it's happened to one of mine, it's gonna happen to one of yours.....eventually.

1 Varadero/17,000 miles ridden (of 40,000 miles on the bike), it's all still new to me!

Easy to make - but really cheap anyway.

    Re: Bent rear brake lever

    Impressive!

Another route is to get a replacement lever/pedal (or straighten the original) and buy a cheapo one for an off road bike with a sprung end, chop off the flexi end and weld/bolt it onto the remains of the BMW lever.

A bit like this on the Alp - ain't no oil painting but works.
