    Fuel Leak

The other day I noticed a smell of fuel from the RHS and when looking at the fuel pipe and noticed it was wet. Gave it a wipe with my finger and it did appear to be fuel. I was on my way to work so decided to carry on anyway and when I got there I couldn't see anything.
Decided that I'd have it all apart at the weekend, which I did this morning.
And.... I can't find anything and couldn't see any leak! Arrgghh.
What I did notice is that the small piece of fuel pipe's did look a bit cracked but no amount of bending or poking could make any fuel leak out. I also fiddled with the quick connectors as I've had these leak before but no, they were sound. I also made sure that the engine was running so that the pump was pressurising the fuel system.

Any ideas? Should I replace the fuel pipe anyway as the bike is coming up to 5 years old.

    Re: Fuel Leak

I find the fuel pipe on my AT starts to weep every couple of years (usually in the cold of winter) so I just replace it as it's cheap as chips. I buy the reinforced stuff, I think they use it on drag bikes. I usually buy a few metres and store it ready for when I need it. Trick is to find a decent supply, most bike shops only keep the thin walled stuff.

    Re: Fuel Leak

Dave I changed my fuel pump filter on the weekend and noticed the 2 fuel pressure pipes started to crack so I'am going to pick up some new pipe this week. I will either get some small fuel clamps or some compressable rings as originals have to distroyed to remove.

dont forget to mark all the pipes or it wont start beleive me
