Well everywhere I read the 800 is getting superb reviews. I just must not tempt myself to a test ride or I hate to think what would happenMaybe one day but I do think its a great loking bike.
I test rode one last week and loved it apart from 3 problems,no handguards, irritating vibrating front brake master cylinder in my peripheral vision and the silly indicater system which I hear that bmw are reverting back to the old style on some bikes next year.......it impressed me so much I might sell my blackbird and africa twin and put the money down for a deposit next year. But I will be following it,s progress to see if any faults crop up...![]()
They are available as an option.
Yep, bobbing around and annoying - but I could put up with that.
Once you get accustomed to the switches, it'll become second nature. How many people did you hoot at when you meant to be cancelling the indicators or turning left?
Was the one you rode smooth or viby?

I took one out for an extended test ride last year while my F650 Dakar was being serviced. This was going to be my next bike but I wasn't really impressed at all.
To be honest I prefered my Africa Twin (now yours), the KTM I have now is soooooooooo much better and to be honest the F650 Dakar makes more sense to me as well

Would like to test drive one, read sooo much on them. There seems to be plenty who love them, I guess its a marmite bike. Still gorgeous looking bike and I think the res is quirky
