Mileage on used BMW GS's

Hey guys I'm thinking of getting a GS 1150 (having made the mistake of test riding one), what I'm unsure of is the mileage they are capable of doing and the price that goes with such mileage.

Is the £4k mark reasonable for one that has done 40k miles on a 02 plate?

Thanks for any tips you could give.

Nick

Have a look on on this web site www.ukgser.com in the 'GS motorcycles for sale'
You can gauge if its overpriced or not...

Re: Mileage on used BMW GS's

I would rather spend 4k on something just as capable, with a lot less mileage. Great bike but over priced in the second hand market and isnt as great as some would have you believe.
Just the other side of the coin

Good point Phil

You are "Into" them or your not .... same with all the other makes too..

They are bloomin pricey tho, and you can get a lot of bike for 4k if you look at other makes/models..

Re: Mileage on used BMW GS's

40,000's only just run in, probably still uses some oil (they all do that, sir).

I'm sure the motor will be fine but the rear shocker, final drive and clutch will be shagged. And the fork brace will be corroded. They all do that, sir.

Can you still get Tobinators?
