    New Tyres for the GSA12/800GS

    Just stumbled across this on the German GS forum.Apparently Heidenau developed them for the big trail bikes.

    1200GSA



    and
    800 GS






    has nayone got any idea if you can get them in this country???
    They call him "Ze Quiet one"
    I listen to what the rice crispies tell me to do

    I use these

    02 RD07a RWB, Powerbronze tall screen, Remus Grand Prix, TT crash bars, TT pannier frame, Zega style panniers, Alpos top box,TT bar risers, TT headlamp guard, Heated grips, mainstand, Heidenau K60s for road and light offroad, TKC80s for the dirty stuff, Scottoiler, Autocomm, TT Zumo mount, Zumo 550 and most of all A BIG GRIN !!! Oh, and a very nice RD04 HRC coloured Marathon Replica

    Last time I looked you couldn't get the right section for the ADV rear. People who I know have tried them and said they're excellent.

    The front on mine (same as the one on the 800GS shown) wore out quite uniformly accross the tread after 6k but the rear still has about 6mm tread in the middle and more on the edges

    The fronts on the pictures on the 1200GS show the front is the same tread pattern as the rear like they do with the TKCs so not sure how the wear rate would differ

    They are good hardwaring tyres and stiff sidewalls so feel like a road tyre but are a bit skittish in the wet if you let the heat out.
