as mike says they have changed the design of the 1200s so the can service an item that was service free

like you i intend to change the oil in the final drive every 4k its only a five min job

Unfortunately on J's bike there's no drain plug on the FD unit and it's not so easy to change. It was done on all the services I paid for.

thats right , on the new unit they fitted to petes bike it got the drain and filler holes installed, they dont learn their lessons easy do they

No drain hole for final drive I got a van full of electric sucky outy things. I give the oil 500 seconds after I warm it up.
