Yeah but put the price of labour on top of your price and it will total a little more. Nice journalistic spin though Chad

Chad which bearing has gone? the input bearing can be changed with the aid of heat gun and if its the bearing on the hub that is suppose to be easy to change also. mine cost me £250.
Personally I reckon BMW the oil in the final drive needs to be changed every 4000 miles as its only a small amount in there. I done this and never had trouble with mine after that, will do the same to the 12.

its the big bearing on the bevel thats gone the cage that seperates the balls disintegrated,,comon fault apparently

but at least with the 1150 its easy to just change a bearing instead of the whole unit

the bevel is now sitting in the freezer awaiting a nice warm bearing to be popped on top hardest part is removing the bearing, borrowed a puller job done

as mike says they have changed the design of the 1200s so the can service an item that was service free

like you i intend to change the oil in the final drive every 4k its only a five min job
