Some BMW info

Two replica BMW 1200GS Adventure motorcycles, one of Ewan McGregor and the other of Charley Boorman.
The replicas stand out thanks to the same leopard and zebra patterns while traction control, ABS brakes and a tire pressure control system are standard and ready for those who feel like going on the Brit’s tire marks from John O’Groats to Cape Town.

The blue one is Ewan McGregor’s replica and features one-off features such as a dynamic comfort pack, heated grips and an onboard computer, just to mention a few. .

The Charley Boorman replica features extra pannier fastenings, fog lights and an electronic suspension adjuster and it will sell for the equivalent of $16,000.

BMW Motorrad has developed this new R 1200 GS Alpine White Version to celebrate 500,000 GS units produced. 300 models of the special version will be made,
The R 1200 GS has been a successful model for BMW with over 35,000 units sold around the world in 2008 across both the R 1200 GS and the GS Adventure. The special Alpine White version will have a new colour, as the name suggests, with black spoke wheels, wider mudguard, black spoiler, bronzed windshield and black and grey seat. front fender extension, black oil-cooler spoiler, tinted windshield, two-tone seat that's 20mm higher than standard, black rims, and a aluminum cylinder head protectors
The new seat can be adjusted to modify the height between 870 and 890 mm, slightly higher than the standard version, though a lower seat is also available at 820 mm. Post-production suspension kit can be purchased to further lower the bike to 790 mm.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
For this BMW GS1150 a special kit has been developed in co-operation with BMW-dealer Bert Duursma from Apeldoorn. This kit allows you to take your BMW Off Road. The kit consists of a specially designed frontframe which replaces the entire original system, a long 'Off Road' WP front fork, an aluminium rearframe and a WP rear shock-absorber.

AC Schnitzer R 1150GS

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The german firm "AC Schnitzer" is well know for it's beautiful accessories for the BMW models.
In co-operation with WP Suspension, the german firm developed a BMW R1200GS in the colors OF WP Suspension.
The Bike has the electrical adjustable EDS system mounted in it's frame.
It also features special parts of AC Schnitzer, like:
AC Schnitzer side cover
AC Schnitzer front mudgard (carbon)
AC Schnitzer cockpit trim
AC Schnitzer V-Performance wheels (3,5/5,5 x 17")
AC Schnitzer Remus Revolution silencer
AC Schnitzer connection section without pre-silencer
AC Schnitzer cover cap
The acoustic signals are provided by the AC Schnitzer Revolution silencer - with EC type approval - which further emphasises the motorsport heritage of the R 1200 GS. The silencer is fitted with a removable "DB-Killer". In addition a decat sports manifold is available without presilencer, specially developed for long-distance riders.
The GS becomes a cornering machine par excellence thanks to the V-Performance wheelset. These wheels come in size 3.5" at the front and 5.5" at the rear, with tyres size 120/70-17 at the front and 180/55-17 at the rear. With the new drive train, cooling opening in the hub and the 5-hole fixing, this wheel was difficult to design.

The exposed back of the instrument panel - still unusual for BMW drivers - is blocked by the new AC Schnitzer cockpit trim. The impressively strong front part is emphasised even further by this component which can painted in body colour.

As a little eyecatcher, the cover cap of turned anodised aluminium with the AC Schnitzer smooth insert fits over the frame bearing journals

BMWS R1200GS has the deserved reputation of being genuine all-rounder. Despite its bulk it will handle trail-ways, decimate motorways and can, if an owner gets the urge, cheerfully mix it with sports bikes on twisting A-roads. But what if you want to retain the GSs excellent traits of comfort, high seating and load carrying but give it a more sports-biased look and handling? The answer comes with this R1200GS Special Edition from German BMW tuning company AC Schnitzer.
As a rolling example of AC's wares, the obvious difference is the ditching of the 19in front and 17inrear narrow, wire-spoked wheels to AC's own 17in forged ally options. This not only gives the bike a more planted feel
while retaining the agility given with the taller stock rims, but gives a wider choice of sports compound tyres.
Altering a trail bikes lines into something more flowing isn't easy but AOs use of one-piece, quick-release fairing side panels has managed it The single-seat converter isn't everyone's stein of Pilsner although it's QD and still allows the use of luggage boxes. Completing the stvlrng is a front mudguard to suit the new, lower front wheel and more stylish dash fairing. As is the norm for AC gear, the panels are perfectly aligned and solid with no skin-ripping sharp edges thanks to formed lips on the panel edges.
Small details like the shaft drive's crash protector pad and swingarm pivot covers are easily lost on first looks -the exhaust system isn't, though. The high level aluminium silencer is married
to AC manifold pipes without the catalytic converter; it not only looks good and sounds good but gives the bike extra low down punch. The bike also wears WP suspension units front and rear. Not your usual high quality shocks, but high quality shocks with WP's EDS system, where damping and preload rates can be altered electronically via a handlebar mounted switch. In terms of brilliance this
simple but very effective method of using stepper motors to what is otherwise dirty, laiuckle-slanning work is 10,000-wattrated.
It works in the same way as BMWfe ESA system, as available for its touring and sport models, and allows the rider to compensate for pillion, luggage, solo use etc and is available for the 1150-1200 GS range and Rl 150RT (www.wpsuspen-sion.co.uk) for £1400. You can't see it work; you might hear it work; but you will feel the difference. In sports mode the GS can be husded as easilv as a large retro bike.
