on my clocks now, which means i done now 30000miles on my bike since i bought her last year January
Ok the bad bits first
I had 2!! new final drives in that time.At no cost to myself, all paid for by Mr.BMW.I did have a lot of stress at the first failure but that was down to the incompetence of Mr.Bill Cannon.
It was eventually sorted by South London Motorrad(thanks Aleric)
I did get as a good will gesture a new rear shock after the first failure and new rear disc, pads and gearbox seals second time so i can not complain too much.Yes i know these things should not happen in the first place but its good to know that if things go pear shaped BMW is prepared to deal with it.
In the last 30k miles i used 3 sets of tyres, had her serviced a few times.Only just replaced the original front brake pads
.
I had a Rt1100,@ and a Vara(carb)before but i must say the GSA is by far the best bike i ever owned.Yes i know what you think/say"But it also costs a lot more"
Yes i know that and no she is not £5000 better then my Vara was as a touring bike. But she is better and at the time i was lucky enough to have the money to afford my dream bike.
Where she comes into her own is 2up touring. Most of you guys know that i take my whole house with me when we go 2up but i still get 45MPG out of the GSA. I would say that at least a third of my miles have been 2up,she cruises at aehh70easy,lots of power left to overtake.
So far nothing but the final drive has given me any problems.I only paid for the normal things(oil, filters etc)
I do take her off road(well sort of), i do drop her (a lot) but so far she has not taken offence to it
I now comute 60 miles a day and its a lot of fun.She is so easy to manoeuvre between cars
Would/will i buy another one?
If i can afford it
YES
no doubt about it cause i love this bike now more then when i got her first
just thought i share that with you guys![]()
