    Panniers

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of Stahlkoffer Panniers made in that far off distant land of Birmingham.

I saw them at the Bike show and while the welding was a little untidy at the back they were solid. The fixing system is a little basic but works and simple is good on the road.

He makes them for BMWs only as he has one.

Have you looked at these. Aluminium Panniers on eBay (end time 31-Jan-10 15:20:22 GMT) My friend has them fitted to his GS. Granted he had to make his own fixings to fit the Adventure frame, but they look purposeful. The bonus, in my opinion, is that unlike my SW Motech Trax panniers (which I bought first) that will just start to look scruffy when dinged and scratched his will just look cooler. Trax great but now pricey.

I still have mine from my written off 1150. Really nice! I hope to fit them to my TA, even though the exhaust is on the other side...
