Tis really a great idea, I made one, from a black oil drum for my black Alp, 4.5 inch extension to mudguard, on test, when releasing from heavy (front) breaking, extenda was caught behind Crash Bars front cross member---quite interesting, it does depend on which crash bars you have, mine seem to be Givi. So, like I said, a grand idea, but do take care.

The "catching on the bashplate" problem is why I made one up from some old car rubber floor mats! They just bend & flex, with no catching problems. Certainly help keep the crud off of the front of the engine - fitted both the Alp & the @ with one each.
