Africa Twin Frame Filler

Not sure what to really call this and it's not really a bodge either - but I like it and thought it would fit best in here...........

The Africa Twin has a huge hole at the top of the rear engine frame which is a strengthening tube running through the frame to either side. This is completely open and is just begging for a cap of some sort.

Suprisingly enough - the swingarm pivit cover from a Yamaha XT600 fits this hole absolutely perfectly with no fixings or glueing needed at all.

The Yamaha part is a rubber bung that is an interference fit and just looks like it's a factory part.

Originally, Yamaha supplied them grey, which would have been nice, but thay only do black ones now.

Anyway - not much of a bodge - but I've had mine in for a couple of years now - I just pop them out once a year for a quick spray n the hole with ACF50.

Even by XRV standards that went so quickly and so far off topic, that I've copied the thread into the chatter section.
