Talking bodge it n scarper heavy industries

after a ride to work in the pissing rain to march in cambs i decided ive had enough od the zumo being mounted to the left hand side of the bars. having to look down and left felt a bit unsafe in those conditions i decided i was going to get a mount for the 990

when pricing up and finding they were around £200

so it was time to get in the garage and play

this was the view before bodge it n scarper got the tools out

pop off the side panels and take off headlight and screen assembly

expose the clock mount with very convenient mount point

make and fit support bracket behind clocks

fit steel inserts to keep plastics independant

fit top bracket with zumo mount

    check power supply

    plastics and screen back on

the final view much safer easy to see at a glance and it keeps the zumo out of the elements

thats saved me a pretty penny

Dude, I Soooooooo need a garage!

    Cracking job though Chad.

Just gotta wonder what that mounting point is for though eh? (as in the original bit - seems a bit odd a whacking gert bit of metal with 4 pre-drilled holes in just sat there - must has some purpose?)

I was thinking same thing the other day when watching some old repeats of SC - I reckon a team of some XRVers would do well on there.

Would have to get a V-twin engine of some sort into what contraption they were asked to build, obviously.

Nice neat piece of work by the way.

It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?
