My first bodge.
However, this bodge is for my Ural.
One of the many trinkets I hoped to acquire/make for my Ural in order to trip prep it for 2009, was a barcket of sorts for my folding trenching tool, to dig us out of treacherous bogs!
So I set to work with 5mm x 30mm steel flat bar, cutting gringing and measuring. My tools were a vice, a 4lb mallet (finesse is everything), an aglegrinder, drill and a couple of small files. Welding of the 4 constituent parts as well as hasp and hinges was done at a bike shop. And here it is with and without the trenching tool, and also displaying my bolt holes.
Not quite as symmetrical as I'd have likely but serviceable and I am happy with the final result.
Only disapointment is that, despite fine advice in another thread, I spent two days applying 3 coats of primer and 4 of paint, and its already chipped!! I only have to breath on it as flakes fly. Bastids...
