    here you go.........http://marinestore.co.uk/page/mrst/P...ctors/PL27471/

I use one on the alp,I also put a plug in socket on the end of the optimizer lead and plug that into the socket whilst in the garage,it trickles into the battery through the socket wiring and keeps it topped up.its mounted on the dash surround and 100% waterproof.

I bought a couple of these http://www.motorcyclepowersockets.co.uk/ They are all made up and by the time you bought the separate bits (if you can find them all) there is little to be saved. It includes an in line fuse and a rubber cap to seal the end when not in use.

I thought I'd show you what the real thing looks like............

quite flush mounting, I added som silicone but the base of the unit is waterproof anyway.

The optimate just plugs in and as long as the LED light on the old phone charger socket comes on I know it's connected to battery ok,then turn on the optimate and it sends the juice to the batter to keep it topped up.

    Re: Super Easy Power Socket......

I've always liked the idea of the ciggy lighter type connecter. socket fixwd where you want then plug in your whatever. the commonly called din type socket though is a bit smaller and also has inside a couple of holding clips that hold onto the similar shaped pin on the plug tip. BT's setup is the best idea but as in my din plug socket setup when your on the bike and its raining I'd like some sort of shroud to be on the plug side so the wet stuff cant run into the socket.

    Any ideas, Help.
    Thanks, Les

All above done while under attack from eating in my canteen last night. So day off sick and boss dont care apparently. my stomach is .

I'm not sure I'd plug anything in in the rain. I have used the din plugs

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Powerjet-1...1%7C240%3A1318
(very common on bt equipment from the old days and still used by BMW now i do believe) but try finding a phone/ipod/sat nav or anything with a din plug end. you have to have an adaptor plug or change the end of every item to din and then your chargers won't work in the car or other peoples bikes.
I don't advise anyone to plug anything in in the rain or when riding along, you risk not only blowing the fuse in the plug in item but also the item your charging will get muller'd.
Anything that needs to be charged whilst on the move shold be wired in to the battery or loom with the appropriate relays and fuses etc.
The socket I have is only waterproof for the sake of having it out in the open where it easily accesible without having to remove the seat (especially when your loaded up with camping gear etc) to get to it. It has taken the worst of the weather and never given any trouble, just flip the lid out and off you go,instant juice for the ipod and phone.I'e even used one of these if I'm in a rush to charge phone and Ipod.

    Re: Super Easy Power Socket......

I have to agree with BTbloke here I fitted a waterproof din type power socket in the fairing and a fag lighter socket in the topbox and in the 2 1/2 years I have never used the one in the fairing for the very reasons btbloke gives.
