Re: Bike in a Caravan
By putting a bike on the back you'll have problems balancing the caravan. The bike being probably the heaviest item to load it has to go in the middle. have a look for caravans with a rear access door there's not many about but they are there

Re: Bike in a Caravan
There's a guy on UKGsers who carries his R100GS in his caravan, so it is possible.

Re: Bike in a Caravan
A work collegue in Holland who races his ducati, bought a caravan built for this purpose from germany (they are manufactured in germany i think) it has a wide rear door, roof rack and ladder to carry gear on top, and is load rated to carry motorcycles. Oh, and looks very smart.
but i cant recmember the makers name sorry. ![]() a search on ebay de may be worth a shot. ps it was quite expensive. |

Re: Bike in a Caravan
I've bought a Ford Galaxy (VW Sharan) because my Honda NSR250 can stand in thr rear with the seats out. I'm looking at a XR400/600 and I think it can stand in the rear too, if I can strap down the forks, to decrease the height of the machine, maybe also have to turn down the handlebar.
Its a bit smarter than a traders van. I have been thinking of something on the outside, maybe on the hitch? 120kg is not that much on the rear end. |
