    Here is another solution:

    And some more info:

However, I'm not convinced that there is a connection terminal on my speedometer for a speed signal output on my RD03

    Hi Gotham,

where did you get the connectors/reducers to connect the solenoid valve to the plastic tubing?

Good idea but I don't think that this system will work properly.
I had similar projects and at the end find out that it's better to spend 100EUR for professional system.

I tried the same home made system with solenoid valve and flow adjuster for compressed air but it was realy hard to adyust the right flow. It's true that I payed less then 40 EUR for components but rear part of the bike was covered from oil or chain was dry and thing was never working properly.

I was trying with diferent solutions about two moths and at the end I bought this thing http://www.rls-oiler.com/rls_oil.html and I'm very satisfied. Regulation it's realy easy with precise regulator. And everything it's made from stainless steel with 5 year waranty. And reservoir is big enough to made aprx. 12.000km
I'm already thinking to buy their new model which is dosing oil regarding to driven distance and it's independent from oil viscosity which is changing with temperature-no adjustment needed. When I called them they said that connection is very easy to made (only connect it to battery) and that is possible to upgrade the basic system.

What compressed air? Why do you need that? Then in order to get constant flow you need constant pressure. Not easy to achieve. Sorry my imagination is poor. Maybe you used the valve that opens only with pressure, mine is free flow valve and that is the point.
In my version the pressure is always almost constant so the thinnest place in the flow system determines the flow speed. It works trust me.

These are usual garden hose adapters. Look pic. 2. Visit your local gardening or hardware shop. They didn't fit one to one with hoses. I used silicon glue to fix them.

PS! I won't be active on this thread for a month cause after a couple hours I fly to India and buy an old school adventure bike for my trip - Royal Enfield Bullet.

I think you've done a brilliant job. It's not a bodge - it's a "proper job" as we say down here in Devon.
Hope you enjoy India - that really does sound like fun!

    Re: DIY scottoiler

I've been using Scottoilers for years and I really can't fault them, other than price (got my last one free). And for that reason you appear to have done a brilliant job. Just find a more suitable container that you can fill without removing.

How 'bout a sauce bottle, the right way up), and let it siphon out?

    Re: DIY scottoiler

XRV freak - how do you really control the oil flow? can you do it as you go? or does the valve just open when you start the engine and close when you shut it off???
    regards
