Cracked screen

I had a small off yesterday, whilst doing some lanes with BT, my touring screen has about a four inch crack in it, from where it is attached to the fairing, across to the middle of the screen. Will super glue be strong enough as a fix, or is there something better or do I ditch the screen ?

Re: Cracked screen

For what it’s worth m8, my advice, if it’s not too expensive, replace it as otherwise it will be a permanent reminder of your off. Main thing is your Ok and still a grumpy old git.

Ride safe

Re: Cracked screen

When I say off, I mean that I was going through a very muddy patch, with bt behind me, and I swear he knocked his front wheel again my rear, causing it to lose grip, throwing me into a large bramble bush, not a pretty sight. And all he was concerned about, is that he didn't have his bloody camera with him.

I think I need a chat with PD and get some sort of restraining order that doesn't allow bt within 10 miles of me, last time out he tried to drown me in a puddle the size of Lake Windemere. If this is my last post, make sure they interview bt first, could save a lot of time.

Oh well then it’s a whole new ball game, how could BT be so irresponsible, not having his camera at such an opportune moment.

If you’re looking for sympathy, you’ll always find it in the dictionary.

I think superglue would cause it to "fog" for a good bit around the repair - not a nice look !!!!!.

Either wear your scars with pride and put some of that waterproof selotape crack repair tape on it - I used it to repair a crack in a fish tank!! and it worked until I threw the tank away several years later.

It's good stuff like a thicker and more pliable roll of selotape about one and a half inches wide, I placed a strip on inside and outside of the crack. I may have the remnants of the roll knocking around - pm me your address, if you have trouble tracking some down.

Drill a tiny hole (2mm) at the very top of the crack - this will prevent the crack from creeping..
