drinks holder

I found an old bicycle drinks bottle holder so, using cable ties, I fitted it to the handlebars.

But - and here's the clever bit - at the top, I cable tied in a few rubber bands.

This means I can put in a bottle and pull the rubber bands over the top stopping the bottle from bouncing out.

It even works with the Sat Nav in place

Re: drinks holder

Did similar except onto my Pannier frames and secured with an old velcro wrap/strap thing. Works well, esp with Sigg fuel bottles. Replaced now with my Tool Tubes, but handlebars is a good idea for the drinks cahe to be relocated - add a long straw and you have got a mobile drinking station.

Re: drinks holder

Bit dangerous mate, I recommend getting a hydro back pack, much easier than leaning forward to suck out of the straw, you'll go down the road looking like a jockey.

I a camelbak amn mesell leek - have been for years.

I'm still trying to fing a method of getting the bite valve (ooo-err is it me or does that a tad herm-a-sex-eal?) to mount up near my helmet (its happening again! ) so I dont need to fish about trying to find it when riding - any ideas?

Nice mod though with the cage, I might copy it!

Re: drinks holder

I was thinking of stopping for a drink.

I have had bottles held down on the rear of the seat by bungees etc but lost one or two. When you pull over and just want a quick drink you don't want to have to search through the top box or luggage for it.

I have steadfastly avoided wearing any sort of rucksack on my back so a camel pack did not appeal.

MotoGP riders and others track riders have a system so it must be available

They are quite burst proof so may well help in an off if worn on the back as just the Camelbak

I must admit my tank bag is one of the best things I have parted with money for
pockets at the front take two bottles with no fear of them falling out on the road
rear pocket has sunglasses
two side pockets and an expandable main compartment and now the Camelbak sits underneath I cant get the full three Litres in but well over one with no risk of it falling off.
Just want to sew some straps under the tank bag to hold it in place for refuelling

If the camelbak sits underneath the tank bag then are you only using the tank bag to hold the camelbak in place ?
