    new magnets for tankbags

if your tankbag magnets are a bit dodgy and you dont trust them, try this.

if you can get enough of them together (go down the tip, always a pile there) get the magnet out of some old PC hard drives and use them instead. they are very strong magnets and flat

Even if this idea , is some how useful ....

The tankbag magnets that are a bit dodgy , its a message that the all tankbag are a bit dodgy .

The well made tankbag , has the correct quality magnets ,
and soft pads on them ,
so to avoid destroying the paint work , when attaching the tankbag on.

no, all tankbags are not the same. i have an oxford tankbag with very strong magnets but unfortuneately its for sportsbikes and wont fit on the varadero, and i have a hein gericke enduro bag that fits nice but has weak magnets. the magnets sit in little velcro pockets in the bottom with soft rubber so they dont touch the tank.

if you scratch the paint getting the bag off then you are a fool for dragging it off instead of lifting it, there is always some dirt under any bag, it doesnt matter how strong the magnets are.

    Good plan dave

Got a few of these magnets hanging around! Shame my tank is plastic, but the oil filter one is a cracking idea! Might use that one on the car as well.

I would love to know how they get a magnet to be that strong, then to think hardly any of the magnetic fields pass through the backing plate it is on!
