BRICO: 5 cm more for screen

    Good afternoon.
I made a small supplement (5 cm) for my screen, with the simple materials: plastic, screws and tweezers.

    Tweezers in screen.

Plastic in tweezers. Now we paint the holes

    Completed. Front.

    Back.

    Weight.

    On the screen.

    Side view.

The plastic has 5 cm high and 20 cm wide. The tweezers are small but very strong.
At 140 km/h in highway no problem and better air flow for the helmet: less noise.

    Bye.

Nice one .. (do not be surprised if the mods move this to bodgers corner)

In the UK we call the tweezers bull dog clips, I'm surprised they are strong enough. The plastic attachment looks to have a very good profile, where did you get that from ???

    Hello.
For my bad english, I use habitually the Google's traductor: he says "tweezers".

Yes, the bull dog clips that I speak are small but very strong.
Is difficult open this with one hand.
I have other bull dog clips more great for others tests.

The plastic attachment is a bit that a old screen from Transalp 600.

But is simply to work with "policarbonato" and "metacrilato". You can to cut with a small saw and to bend with hot.
This page is in spanish, but is possible you understand something:

Metacrilato y Policarbonato, tecnicas de trabajo caseras

I had bend something plastics into de oven from my house (my wife was out in this moment, hahaha). You put the oven at 150ºC during a few minuts.
You test: if the material is strong and it is not posible to bend... more time into de oven.

Caution: in this moment the plastic ir very hot. You need a gloves.

    Good luck.

Very nice adaptor, you must be quite tall too need the raise the screen.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

No really. I have 1,84 high.
The problem is the airflow impact in my eyes and made too noise and movements in my helmet.
I need to down the head some centimeters.
Thanks this suplement i need down the head 5 centimetes less.

I will test with a old helmet's screen with 10 centimeters, for example (no more, the motorcycle's screen moves too much).

    Muy bueno!

Congratulations for your fine ideas! I suppose you own a 650 TA, and you've fitted the long screen, don't you? I'm exactly as tall as you are, and I wonder if you could explain me the pros and cons of changing the screen. I usually don't find incoming wind so annoying, but would like to check if longer screens are really an improvement.

Si no entiendes algo me lo dices!

    Salud / Cheers

Re: BRICO: 5 cm more for screen

    Hello Veodoble.
Yes, my work is on a 650 Transalp.
She has a high Givi screen.
This screen removes all the air then impact in my body, but send the turbulent airflow to helmet's screen.
In the helmet I have noise and vibrations very annoying.
I think: one supplement will send the airflow above my helmet.
The problem is the Givi screen is not very strong for put in top one big supplement. I have a small supplement for have not problems.

With a small motorbike's screen the turbulent airflow impact on my body but the airflow that impact on my helmet is without turbulent. Less noise and less helmet's movements.

For my is very difficult to write (and to read) in english, but i want to do it for learn.
Is possible the english boys will think: horrible. Sorry.

    Regards for all.

PD.: How can I to send a private message to Veodoble?
