    I'm glad to see I’m not the only person with similar problems with either being posted on the tank or not breathing when using the top box 2-up. Had Honda take a look and they say it can’t be moved on the 600TA so any chance you fancy making a few more of them thingymy watsits?

    do you have the new shape or old shape generic honda luggage rack? the old one has 6x6mm holes in a rectangular pattern but the new shape has a different hole pattern. if you have the old, consider this;

    It's a 93 600TA with a Givi plate attached to it. Unfortunitly there is no way to move the plate further back

    i bet there is!
    never say never mate

    just had a look at your pics, you got the PL series tubular racks with the bridgy bit on top for the topbox, with a standard horizontal slot givi plate. if you made a plate of metal or composite to go between the two, you can easily move the topbox back at least a couple of inches before you start to lose rigidity. thats why they put the box so close to the seat in the first place, the further back it is the more wobble you are building in but with a 1/4" hexcel fibreglass plate holding it together its going nowhere, trust me.
    in fact i'll do better than that, im only in fareham so if you want to come round for a coffee and a chat and see what we can come up with, your welcome. ive even got the bit i made for an old bike with the same setup as yours in the garage. that would be spooky if it fits yours

    A very nice piece of fabrication you did there, just a shame you paid for that shoddy powder coat.
    I would have done a better job powder coating them fer nowt .
    Good job though and keep breathing

    ian,
    you should have a drawing that looks something like this, i need to know the red bits with the question marks. if you dont have the 6 holes that are 246x70 then i need to know what you do have.
