Take turns to breath in (TOP BOX)

    Hi

Well my new bike is great but me and the wife had to take turns at breating in,

The top box was leanning forward and a little to far forward

I moved it back a bit but it was still leaning forward

So i made a two brackets to move it further back and alter the angle.

    And had them powder coated.

Bought a few stainless nuts and bolts

    I think it looks ok

Total cost, powder coating £17.50 and the stainless nut and bolts about £10.

I can see you all reaching for your keyboards, itching to tell me about overloading the rear rack and quoting Mass x Distance, Pythagoras Theorem and the Square of the Hippopotamus.

So just to put all your minds at rest, the only things I ever carry in my top box, is my full set of miniature helium balloons and my antique feather collection.

    Cheer

    Rick

Nice design, but I think a pair of skates would have been better.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE

Nice job, comfort is just as important

someone else here on the forum had made something similar but with a larger gap between box and base for soft stowage (a tent I think)

The Givi racks for the RD07's are supplied with two wedge shaped pieces that level the plate.

I find that my Givi box sits a bit too far forward, the plate almost touches the back of the seat. So,I moved the plate back slightly. The result was the box seemed to wobble about alot more on the less than sturdy rack so I put it back to where it had been originally.

Re: Take turns to breath in (TOP BOX)

I could have made it out of heavier gauge steel but I am conscious of overloading the rack and I didn’t want it to look too industrial.

The rack only takes 10kg standard (22lbs old money) so with this extending it a few more inches ……who knows

For 99% of the time all the top box has in it is my packing up and my water proofs so I think it will be fine

There will be no huge weights bouncing up and down and what ever happens there could always be mark 2

    Cheers
