making your own adjustable screen mounts

    hi all,
went out for a ride yesterday around Dorset lovely but COLD so after warming up thought about diverting the wind .

So got some 3mm lexan cut to shape and size [ touratech copy] but cheaper now just need a adjustable mount like the "MRA type" small and dont block your view like the "touratech" barn doors.

Done loads searching but nowt yet anyone found sumit to do the job without costing a fourtune

dont mind canabalishing something to do the job will take orders when finished

How about the brackets for frameless glass as used in shower screens or partitions? I havn't got a particular item in mind but a glaziers or architectural iron mongers may be the place to start.
I have been pondering over a similar solution but have just bought a powerbronze screen to try next.

Oh I know what you mean!!
At the moment going to get some plastic tube to form a sleave/collar over the mounting bolts with Rubber washers as dampeners , about 10mm dia should get something from B&Q or local skip then cut to lenght with shamfered edge .

Short length front longer top to create slope as required , easy to adjust just cut new lenght 2mins job hard part heating bending plastic. So got 2 lenghts for £3 to bodge with , will have to enlist the other half asistanceto bend plastic probably heat over a oil drum to create a profile.

I ain`t an engineer just a life long whatcher and copier/bodger

I copied the madsted idea and made my own,
then binned it as it made the screen mount too far away from the bike and it looked plain daft
I kept half of the idea and now have a sliding screen with more adjustment

    see screens again thread
