Re: sore bum?

Pretty much the same as my efforts
I got the gel pad cheaper, cos it stunk of horse, off fleabay
and a Sheepskin Numnah (saddle cover for the non equestrian)
I cut the old seat foam with craft knife, the type with a retractable blade, I found it really good for getting the depth right, then used coarse sand paper to smooth everything off. I've got a second seat now so will be repeating the job again, just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can work outside.

hmmm, I was wondering about the sheepskin seat cover jobbie, I really fancy one of the equestrian gel/ sheepskin jobs that I saw, I could attatch it to my 2nd seat & use it for my rare long trips. However, what happens when it rains? It must get really wet & smelly no? If it's not attached semi permanently, do you have to remove it at every stop?

Don't people laugh at you, riding a dead sheep?

so many questions...

Re: sore bum?

What's to laugh about? My Varadero looks the part with it's dead ewe

I was out with my Kawa KLE500 last week, now that's the most uncomfortable seat yet! I did 30 miles and was in pain for about two days! (The seat may have been frozen, it was cold up here!)
I had a modified seat on my Africa twins, it was a big improvement. My 955i Tiger had the best seat yet but I've moved back to the Varadero and it is quite comfy but I use the ewe for long distance hauls. Heavy rain it goes into the tent bag on the back.
Of all the products available the dead ewe skin for a fiver from the car boot sale is by far the most efficient mod! Yes, I am a Scotsman!
