Very nice machine but I bet you cant fix it in the wilds of Scotland without a BMW dealer and his laptop

Sticking to the old TA ( until you can get the software for a PDA off Ebay ).

Temted by the Dark GS side then Dave Myself will also rather give the KTM a go just for something different. Nothing wrong with the GS just want to stand out in a crowd when the local BMW boys park up

Not really, can't afford it at the moment, but always like to see what the opposition is like.

Than take a good care of the production year. Early models had a looooooot of problems. Some bolts break like wooden sticks, than there was some cluch basket problems... Not realy expected from such an expensive bike

The KTM sounds good. I tried out a 1200 GS the other day for 4 hours and i wasn't that impresed. It is very very quick and the one i had had a Laser can on it so it sounded brill but i found it very uncomfortable as i was sliding forward on the seat into the tank. I found you also felt the bumps more and a higher speeds my Powerbronze screen offered better protection. I was told after that you can adjust the seat though so that shoudn't be ok. To be honest i couldn't justify an extra £5000+ ontop of selling the @ to get something i can't work on myself and isn't nearly as economical as the @. really all it has done is made me decide to save for a new can, so i think it will have to be a Remus with a removable baffle.
