    Troubles with Motorcycle Parks?

After my experience today I've been wondering, do any of you have trouble with freakin' car drivers and drivers of other vehicles with more than two wheels who knowingly park in motorcycle parks? There's a motorcycle park in town here that's notorious for car drivers (and other large four wheeled vehicles) knowingly parking in it, as if they just want to f*ck bikers off or something. Only today I was forced to park on the pavement 'cause some creep decided he wanted to park his estate car right across the park, even though there was plenty of space for cars just a few feet away! And when I managed to confront him/it about it, "it" became very abusive and yes, even violent! Little did the little chav realise, but when "it" started to get violent I simply lowered the visor of my helmet and head butted "it". "It" then turned around and punched my helmet! Man, it surely takes all sorts to make a world, doesn't it?

I asked an old couple who witnessed it if there was any damage to my lid (scratches caused by rings or anything) and they said all they could see was a chunk of his skin on my poor Simpson. ( ). He must've caught himself in the chin vent!

    Traffic wardens

Just a quick tale , Parked out side a shop in town on saturday afternoon (single yellow line ) was stood at check out when yellow tw*t stuck a ticket on the screen of my bike. woman at checkout asked if that was my bike and I said Yes, she says you better get out there and do some thing, I say don't worry about it.
Two mins later I step outside and confront the tw*t, told him I had been less than 10 mins in the shop. He said "you f***kin bikers think you own the road so stick your ticket." I peel it off and drop it in my pocket, asked him how he was going to get the money off me, "I got your plate number and can find your address . I then point out thats its forgein, (F ) he then rechecks my plate and realizes he cant do much else but walk away while I stand there laughing my tits off.

Don't get me wrong, I don't abuse the system.

I hope that warden and YOU realise that he can be reprimanded for being rude to the general public if you so wish to report his number? Just thought I'd like to say, that's all...

Thanks , The only reprimand he should have got was a smack, I'll just wait till he comes to the club on Fri night and he'll wonder why he has to pay double entry fee.. or is refused entry to every bar / club in Bognor ... Car drivers(lower life forms that they are) parking in bike parks is one of my pet peeves and irritates me no end. I tend to avoid shopping in supermarkets but my local Morrisons has two designated bike spots and on any given day you can be assured that at least one of them will be taken by a car. I was lucky enough to actually be pulling in when one tw*t tried to drive in.I i raised my leg off the peg and made like I was going to put the chromed end of my Sidi boot into his wing. He backed off. Even more gratifying was squeezing in next to an expensive looking RangeRover parked in the only motorbike spot(clearly marked) in the carpark. Made damn sure my nice rough handlebar ends scraped his doors all the way out (I even checked to make doubly sure).

Yeah, yeah, yeah, little acts like that give bikers a bad name but the line has to be drawn(or scraped)

I had a little chat with a police officer th'other day, about me riding 50m across a bike path to get to a spot on the pavement where I could park safely and out of the way...

She said that parking on the pavement was condoned but she appeared a bit miffed about me actually using the space in between to get there.

When I explained that it was the safest option to use the bike path for 50m instead of coming to a full stop in the middle of traffic to use a narrow pedestrian crossing that is much nearer, and that I had looked around carefully before going onto the bike path so as not to scare any cyclists and such, she said it didn't matter because it's against the law.

When I asked how I was supposed to get there then she said the question was irrelevant because technically it was illegal to park there anyway.

Well yeah, but half the car-driving population of the greater Amsterdam area will be screaming bloody murder if I put it in a regular parking spot, which she agreed with, besides that's not allowed either and I've got nowhere to put the day-pass anyway. (And if you think I'm going to pay 12 euro per day just to park my bike you're out of your mind, but I thought better of saying that out loud)

So was I supposed to pick the thing up and put it in my pocketses, then? :P

In the end I didn't get a ticket and she made me promise not to ever do that again, a promise which she full well knew I was going to break even that same day, but oh well. I figured she had to save face somehow, as I got the impression that some of the older cops were having a quiet snigger on her behalf.

Not had a problem with BIke bays being populated by cars /....when they are, I simply put my bike diagnal across a car bay, and put it on the centre stand.

My biggest problem is ignorant bikers who think the world owes them a living and persist in parking their scooters across the back of a bike space, blocking bikes infront.
