    Max Factor

    Hi guys...

Need some help with a technical problem!!!

When I've been riding for a while and need to stop for shops and patisseries etc... you need to replenish your slap

Where's best place, or do you know of a small tankbag that can hold a few make-up items, y'know the usual.. moisturiser, lippy, eye shadow etc? It can't melt becuase it's expenseive!

There are a couple. Baglux do a small one but its still large - there are lots of pockets though. Problem is you need the tank cover to attach it. They do a bag suited to the @ and TA's tank.

Hiene Gericke do a magnetic one which has sections. The bottom one is almost flat and perfect for a few bits!

I must admit for me its food but there is a lip balm!!!

    Hi Vicky,

I've got a small Oxford tank bag, I think it is one of the sports versions. The only problem I find is that it doesn't fit quite right to the Transalps tank but it does the job. I like it because it also has a bit that you can unzip and leave the magnitised section to the tank and carry the main bit around as a rucksack.

Not sure if you can get a Baglux to fit the @ twin, but that is quite a pricey option. The young lad at the NEC motorcycle show told me that of course as a girl I would only like the smaller bags because they don't get in the way of well you know ladies bits .......He then spent the next 30 mintues trying to dig himself out of the chauvenistic hole he got himself into. I got bored after that and went to find the Guiness tent again.

Have a look around some of the big shops and you will proberly find something that suits.

They do. Its called a Dzeta - I got mine on Enbay! They also do a City Trail - which according to the Baglux website is popular with lady riders - I have no idea why...

Look at the pictures section or ride out reports - if you see a bag you like post a question and the owner of bag will soon pipe up!

Vicky, I don't know exactly how much you intend to pack but fewtrees uses one of those large expanding Oxford tank bags for his 'grooming products'. He's so paranoid about helmet hair he carries some of those bendy curlers and a 12v hair dryer too. He can even plug it into his AT via one of those accessory sockets - you should get one of those on your Transalp.

As for me I've got no hair anymore but I do like to 'polish up' my dome every now and again. My Mr Sheen fits under the seat on an AT, I'm not sure if the Transalp offers the same amount of space.

    Another classic thread......

Make up bag's on an big trail bike... what is the world coming to.... Nurse!

I haven't got anything helpful to add though. But the vibes from the Twin must make putting lipstick on difficult.
Do you have the mirrors turned towards you.....

And that reminds me when I was riding down to Brighton the other day I saw a car veering all over the road, when I pulled level on a very cautious overtake there was a lady driving whilst putting eye liner on FFS!!!!

Fantastic comment Jim. I can just imagine Rob getting the 12V dryer out after he'd stopped.

Yep, the trail bike mirrors are far superior for lippy application, although always careful to do it a traffic lights and not whilst riding or it gets everywhere

Bloody women drivers can be lethal, as a motorcyclist I have to say I have far more near misses with women driving without due care and attention, we need to get more women on bikes and then maybe we can have custom made tankbags just for our makeup

I know it's not a tank bag, but - Touratech do a small bag which fixes to the handlebars.

I've ordered one to see what they're like - I was looking for a bit of storage at the front of the bike for toll change, camera, mobile phone while on charge and reckon it might fit the bill. Added bonus is that you don't have to take it off to refill the tank, too.

TT uk seem to be veeeeeeeerrrrryyyy slow at dispatching web orders though, for some reason.

The Oxford Sprint Tankbag is quite small. http://www.oxprod.com/ Look in the Oxford Sports section.

Hein Gericke do a handlebar one too, for £7.99- it's water repellent (whatever that means with regards to resistancy, but some Nikwax spray and ziploc bags inside should be fine).

Wunderlich do one too at £15.53
