    HEIN GERICKE BOOTS

Hi has anyone any experience of the Hein Gericke T.R.G. CROSS BOOTS . I have a pair of Frank Thomas Monza boots BUT i find them awkward to change gear and get a good feel with the rear brake " THERE IS LITTLE OR NO FLEX " In the sole of the boot . Are the Hein Gericke,s the same ? fw750x

    Re: HEIN GERICKE BOOTS

I was also wandering if the Hein Gericke TRG boots were any good or more flexable/comfortable/waterproof Etc.. than Tech 3? Since as i have mentioned on another thread i have the choice of HG TRG boots or Alpinestar Tech 3 since i'm going shopping at HG for some kit.

    Replacement Boots?

Alpinestars Tech 3 boots ARE NOT WATERPROOF.

I have a pair of HG Tuareg boots which I wear in all weathers and have remained waterproof even in torrential rain.

I don't know if the latest HG Tuareg boots have the same Sheltex inner - would be worth asking them if you are going to the shop.

Hmm thats what i thought. HG boots are meant to be waterproof leather but as yet havent found any longterm reviews of them.

One minor point to consider as well is that with HG you will have a warranty on the boots. My old ones started leaking after 1 1/2 years of everyday use(and no shoe polish or stuff)went back and exchanged the sheltex boots(they did not have them in there range anymore)for a pair of Gortex boots.I only paid £38 or so on top.Now the sheltex stuff has a 2 year warranty and the gortex a 5 year warranty. So if i only have to pay £50 or so every 2 years to upgrade my boots i just all the way
They call him "Ze Quiet one"

Just a thought but are Hein Gericke TRG Cross Boots the same as your HG Tuareg since they look totally different?

Hi Grendel the T.R.G. Cross Boots are more like Moto x boots . I had a look at them and thought that the soles would have no flex in them at all. I ended up buying the Maddox Boots Page 115 of the NEW Catalogue . I have covered thousands of miles with them and not once have i got my feet wet , Anything from a spit of rain to the worst downpours i have ever seen and my feet were dry compaired to the rest of me. I would recommend these boots very comfy to walk in and not heavy.Francis

    Re: HEIN GERICKE BOOTS

Thing is i already have Alpinestar Ridge waterproof ankle boots so was looking more at a Moto X style. Think I'll be getting the HG TRG boots after all since there not as extreme as the Tech 3 and will be more use for my mainly road based riding with hopefully a few dirt track/light off roading.

Also hear good things of HG kit back up and waranty from other forums.
