    Autocom

Hey, if anyone is interested in buying a good quality intercom system now might be the time. Autocom apparently issued a directive to their official dealers to get the old stock out at half price before the new model comes in. For instance the Easy 7 kit goes out at £50. See http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/p...cturer=Autocom as an example. I ordered an Active 7 kit for £75. Others were available but they appear to be going fast.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered a kit3 for £75 one minute after seeing this post. I'd heard they were selling them off at half price at the shows last year but thought I'd missed the boat. I have the kit 3 already and they are very good. This ones for the missus. Thanks again.

I'll be testing the new Starcom one in the next week or so and writing an article about it.

Don't know if its the new one, but i'm well impressed with the starcom1 advance, admittedly not had chance to use it much, but had little legs on back at weekend and it was the mutts nuts, she came out with some real pearlers, shame she didn't keep quiet for long enough for the music to kick in.

Me and Mr Mabel will be looking this month, he misses the gentle sound of my lovely voice on the bike and finds it quite soothing when I am telling him that he is a big girls blouse and needs to hurry up on his bucket of bolts cause I am fed up of waiting for him

    I bet he cant wait

Tried out the Bike 2 bike radio with the autocom on the weekend, superb sound quality and superb mickey take potential.

8 of us going to the Alps in the summer, all with radios

    Gonna hide at the back

Cheers for the link these are great for that price can't fault 'em

I did wonder if anyone had used these things bike to bike.

What radios are you using? I've got some mickey mouse motorola style things which have worked well on the ropes with VOX. but not sure how they will perform on the bikes?

I'm just getting a new active 7 for the africa and may transplant my old one to the little KMX when it is rebuilt for the girlfriend to learn on (well pleased she wants to have a go!) . I want to be able to talk her through what to look for, as she drives a bit blinkered in a car and the idea of her riding like that petrifies me! Is this a good idea or a recipee for relationship disaster ? I only intend to get her going and then bundle her off on some lessons? Is vice versa a better idea maybe?

She has got LOADS better now since going pillion and hopefully the extra exposure will wake her up a bit more!

I think rather than restricting motorcyclists and letting learners jump in anything mummy and daddy can afford to insure (saw L plates on an BMW X5 last week! ). I think ALL car drivers should have to do a compulsory 6mnths on a bike or scooter before they can even apply for their provisional just to wake them up!! Oh... and make part of that six months winter conditions so they know what it feels like to have some muppet on the phone reading their mail and driving right up your arse on an icy morning.

Just my humble opinion! It may work like survival of the competent
