Bought a plastic repair kit made by Plastex http://www.plastex-uk.com and it's fantastic! It really works, mended two broken 'stalks' on the side panels and also the plastic speedo cable end. I've tried other things over the years but this stuff is the biz, it welds the plastic together unlike other methods which just glue. Well worth the £20..... highly recommended.
