    arai tour x

tonight was the first chance i had to try out the new lid mrs chad got me for my birthday

and i must say so far im well impressed even with the peak on there is little or no problem with buffeting and it was quite windy out there this eve

first impressions are that its quieter than the roof lid ,a lot more comfortable. and looks the nuts

all in all im one very happy bunny, the only thing thats taking some getting used to is the DD chin strap up till now all my lids have had the seat belt type clip.does anybody have any idea why the more expensive lids seem to have the DD strap whilst the more budget lids seem to have the seatbelt type

though having asked this question the DD strap does seem to feel more secure and comfy

yup its a dam fine lid thanks to those who steared me towards the tour x

No ifs or buts! its either done up or its not! although they all pass similar or same standards I have seen a lot of dodgy kit with snap-clips and even in the rope-access game, but nearly all the best kit has metal friction or jamming clips. They do feel safer. I wouldn't want to fall into a harness with the equivalent of a rucksack clip stopping me going splat! same for my melon! I'm sure everyone at some time or other has clipped a rucksack shut....or thought they did... and then picked it up by the lid and had it ping open

Some fail to safety kit can be well OTT and f'in useless if the user by-passes it though. You need to be an octopus to use some crabs these days. Chad I bet you have seen some scary kit on the steel.

Another good point of the DD is that it's always drawn tight.

With the clip thing set for some windstopper fleece round your neck you have to remember to readjust it in case it turns summer all of a sudden.

Wow chad looks like you really do have yourself a MASSIVE shiny helmet!

Does look cool dude. Just wondering if the budget will stretch after I get my luggage.hmmm got me thinking.

It looks a like you get a lot more fresh air than with a std arai full face

The only other one i have seen has a very short d-ring strap, on the left, making it look like a pain to do up. Is that one short compared to other arais?
