Rack bag big enough for an MX helmet?

I'm going off to the ADVRider Euro meet in the Dolomites in July, and I'm going to be wearing my Arai full-face on the way down and back, but want to wear my MX helmet for on the tracks as a) it lets more air in and b) it isn't a £300 helmet if I tumble over

Anyone got any ideas for a soft bag that is large enough for an MX helmet, water-resistant and has the straps built-in so that I can attach it securely to the Honda MY5 rack?

Infinity sells padded helmet bags for around a tenner, I have one of them and they good value for the price. They have two carry straps on the side which I presume you can use to fasten it onto the bike somewhere. Waterproof - not sure about that though.

    Helmet Bag
A couple of Tesco carrier bags or a bin liner would take care of waterproofing

Not a bad idea, but not sure if it would close with the peak attached

Now that you mention that I normally take my peak off when I store it in the bag in the loft. Can the peak clip or unscrew from the helmet?
