Well, as I've found I'll need a new gear lever, spindle and selector at some point in the not too distant future, and as it's an engine-split job that Honda quote 6.1 hours for, I'm starting to think on maybe a brand-new bike next year, but still in the same 'Adventure' class.
Would prefer to stay in the sub-1000cc range as I don't 'need' anything huge for the islandbut I'll find out for sure next week when I'm in the south of France if I could do with more than one cylinder

What are the options, both available now and proposed? Obviously, now we have the TA and Varadero from Honda, there's the F650GS and the proposed F800GS from BMW - any rumours about Kawasaki etc?
I've tested the Wee-Strom and found the riding position didn't suit me, and if I'm paying £5K+, I'd rather not spend out more straight away on new bars etc, although this is always an option (plus of course the Strom is ugly as sin)
