Got to give a talk to a load of yoofs...

For some reason, I've volunteered to give a talk to a bunch of 11-15 year olds about motorbikes/motorcycling. It's at the local church so at least they'll be reasonably behaved.

Firstly would there be any general objections if I took a few photos or videos from the Salisbury Plain runs? (http://www.xrv.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5081)

Secondly, anybody got an brilliant ideas what to talk about and will keep the yoof of today entertained? I thought about:

A bit about safety (if anybody has any embarassing stories with photos that happened to them that they'd like aired, let me know...).

Something about different types of bikes and the different sorts of people who ride them. (Power Ranger, accountants of Harleys etc)

Few pics and vids from rideouts.

Er, go out side and rev the engine? (If anybody lives near Camberley and reckons that can stunt in the church car park...)

    Anyway, ideas greatfully received.

Go for the variety of different bikes available, and emphasise that horsepower doesn't necessarily equal fun.

    Yeah. That.

It'll always be more fun to outcorner the ones who have more bhp than sense, and it's no fun at all being scared of what the bike can do.

Might tell 'em the bit I saw a while back about Carrie Anne Moss learning to ride that Ducati in the ReMatrix... Started out on a 100cc dirtbike or something... Mastered that, move on to a 250. Mastered that, get onto an average 500 cc bike. Mastered that, only then get on the 748 and absolutely ride the pants off it.

What a fantastic opportunity........ the chance to pass on the spirit of motorcycling to another generation.

I think I'd talk about being safe, and the experience you get from motorcycling, the sense of freedom, etc...
Please do use anything on the site.....
If you do use the off-road angle I would emphasise the doing it properly route, via byways and not nicking a bike and riding it round on any old rough ground.
I'd also emphasise the fun and camaraderie.
I was closer to Camberley I'd come and join you, I love passing on my enthusiasm for motorcycling.

Pictures of ladies with their baps out should get their attention.
That wouldn't be a bad idea for the site......have a section dedicated to pics of the wives
