    New dog - Border terrier

After our Dobermann left this earth, almost 2 years ago, we have been without a dog in the house.

Now we are planning to get a new. Considering all pros and cons, we have decided to get a Border Terrier.
Not exactly the same as a Dobermann , but we'll give it a try. At least it will get space in my top-box .

The Border Terrier origin from the Scottish border area, and is a very popular dog in UK and Scotland. Due to this, there are also lots of Kennels breeding this dog. It is not easy to distinguish good, moderate and poor breeders purely on the www.

My question is if some of you have experience with the breed, and can advise me a high quality breeder in UK or Scotland?

Great little dogs. Personally I prefer Fell (or "Lakeleand") terriers - similar but with longer muzzle - though there are more Borders about, and they're probably easier to find.

Excuse to display picture of fell terrier in its natural habitat:

Sorry, I can't help there, I'd only get a dog with a disreputable and distinctly mixed ancestry

Met a couple of good terriers the other day. I was riding through a farm yard, and a couple of little hairy missiles shot out to "greet" me. After circling the bike a few times, one of them grabbed my foot (thankfully clad in altberg's finest, it didn't hurt). Wee bugger held on for about 20 feet, dropped off, bounced, and came after me again. Now that's a game dog

Hmmm, I suppose you're either a terrier person or you're not

You will never get another breed once had a Border ! The perfect Dog, friendly quiet, fun , fit , rugged, small so they dont take up the whole sofa!and full of character. got the "Blue " colour, same scheme as the doberman but you could still take it in a fight !
Dont know of any breeders near you , but i have had all sorts of dogs and now am a confirmed Border man .

Fell terriers are new to me. They can not be very common in Norway. But they definately look like Borders, except for the muzzle.

I will teach our new border not to consider DS-riders as game.

Thank you for the information. It is often better to get it from a non breeder, then you'll get the truth
Looks like we have made a good choice then .

I am not looking for Norwegian Breeders, but reliable, top quality breeders in UK or Scotland. There is no problem for me to import it to Norway. So, if you can recommend one you're welcome to do that.
