I've heard this from other GS oweners - the catalyser is so restrictive that the silencer doesn't have much of a job to do

What you mean you're not going with the standard grey Motoraad jacket and trousers, that seem compulsory with the "just got a new beemer" crowd?

Don't know about the dark side, looks distinctly grey to me
