    Bike Safe Course

Just done a Bike Safe day with my local constabulary, morning theory input followed by 3hours riding around with a bike cop. Loads of fun with great riding tips thrown in over tea and buns. All the bike cops are avid bikers with fantastic knowledge of various ranges of bikes, (they get to try loads of different types for assessment as potential Police bikes.)
I would certainly recommend doing the day if anyone is considering it.
    £50 squid well spent.

I have done this about 3 years ago and mind you was only £25 back then but still money well worth spending. Did not learn new things as much as being reminded of old vital things I forgot to use over time. It's so easy to adopt bad habits instead of using good habits to save your life.

Yes , agree , a very worthwhile investment. I did one up here in 1999 and realised very quickly that my 25 safe riding years were more down to luck than skill. So I signed up for a Honda MAC course ( remember when you got a free course thrown in with a new Honda bike?) and that was me started and hooked on the advanced riding thing, eventually getting my RoSAP "Gold" qualification. I've now been riding bikes for 31 years and the last 6 have been the smoothest and fastest of the lot.

I would recommend you join your local RoSPA or IAM group and take this to another level - trust me , safe does not mean boring , or slow !!!.
And you'll save on insurance - eg yours trully - fully comprehensive, protected no claims, for a 2005 Alp - £96 !!!
    2011 Triumph Tiger 800 - "Black Pussy" - MMMM Nice !!!
    2000 Suzuki DRZ400S - "Ol' Yella" - very bright
    2011 Peugeot V-Clic 50cc - "Scoot" - It's my wife's, an enjoyable ride.

    I have a house , but I can't guarantee it's safe !!

No way man, mate of mine joined them and subsequently picked 9 points up on his licence and he is an observer now as well

Although not a copper, was fortunate enough to get an advance course with the Lancashire police. Got a class 1 pass too. can't say as it's made much difference to my insurance though. Even though I've done the course, insurance companies ask if I'm a policeman. As I'm not, I don't think I count for a discount

Another venue for this course is at the Ace Cafe. I checked this year and it was £30 for the day. Did not check the price before writing this so don't quote me. I've not done it yet but will do in the near future. Carol Nash said it will make a slight difference on insurance so it will pay for itself in the end. Will let you know how I get on.
