well my story is a bit lame compaired to others. i use Xander in real life too . my real name is Alexander.. my best friend as a child was Alexandra... she got Alex and i got Xander... borring huh? .. I stop using it for a few years.. cus of triple X and buffy the vampire slayer... got so sick of the "O you are a buffy/xXx fan".... (liked xXx.. but not buffy much)..... Two years back I was working at a research base with an other Alex.. so i reverted... .. my wife calls me Xander when she is happy with me.... I know i am in trouble if she uses Alex... :P and i have to run and hide if she uses Alexander....

As for nick names, think every body knows me as either Jenna or Jen however i often get called lots of four letter words by various people sadly every time i try to use it as an avitar it gets replaced by ****

For the past 20 years I've done mapping/navigation related research, usually with the GPS but also alternative positioning technologies, all over the planet. Lived out of a Landie/tent tracking free-range Highland Cattle across the Cairngorms, been a site surveyor for a Spanish-led archaeological dig on Easter Island, conducted GPS training to the Indian paramilitary and mapped indigent settlements in the equatorial rainforest. It was when I was part of an archaeological team surveying some of the 8 kazillion islands off the NE American/Canadian coast that the team dubbed me "the GeoBloke". Also answered to "NavMan" (but that's copyright infringment now).
Given the impact that Geography has had on my life it seemed an appropriate moniker. I now do research for the Ordnance Survey and belong to a rapid reaction mapping team that gets called out by the UN whenever there's a major disaster(earthquake, tsunami, flooding etc..) Off to southern Sudan in 3 weeks' time to show the UN and NGO's there how to track their convoys and personnel(hijacking/kidnapping is a reality in some areas). Wanted to bring the same tracking units to the National meet and stick 'em on a few bikes. They record your route like an off the shelf unit but also let others see where you're going in realtime via a webpage. Kinda cool.

nah its just comes from the secon half of my sirname chadwick , now if my wife stevie uses the wick on the end of chad i know im in big trouble

its funny down the generations my dad and grandad were all called by the chad moniker and if we was all in the same room and somone said oi chad !!! we would all answer
